Extortion and ransomware: monetizing your “hack”
Ransomware exploded into a billion-dollar industry in 2016. Extortion and ransomware have become commonplace terms in board discussions, audit committees and risk committee discussions. Over the course of this presentation, Abhay will discuss the evolving black market, economic motivation for cyber-attacks and the growth of ransomware and extortion attempts. He will address typical approaches taken to conduct these attacks, and potential measures that organizations can take to reduce their exposure to such compromises.
