Many Thanks To SNC-Lavalin For Their Continued Support of CIM Toronto Branch

Steven Gaudet is Manager, Environment & Reclamation for Syncrude Canada Ltd. at the company's oil sands operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Syncrude Canada Ltd. is the world's largest producer of crude oil from oil sands and the largest single source producer in Canada supplying 15% of the nation's petroleum requirements.

The Syncrude operation is comprised of four major technology areas: Mining, Extraction, Upgrading and Utilities. As well, Syncrude invests more than $40 million annually in science and technology, and is among the top 50 companies in Canada for Research and Development (R&D) investment. Syncrude holds 21 active Canadian and U.S. patents.

The Hamilton Lectures were established by SNC/GECO, a subsidiary of the SNC-Lavalin Group, in 1980. Inaugurated for the Toronto Branch of the CIMM, the lectures serve as a tribute to Robert and Philip Hamilton for their outstanding contribution to the Canadian mining industry.
