Pamela D. Strand, is a Professional Geologist (“P. Geol”) and is a graduate of the University of Toronto (Bachelor of Science, Geology Degree, 1988) and the University of Western Ontario (Master of Science in Geology, 1993). Since 1997, Pam founded and has held the position of President, CEO and Director of Shear Minerals Ltd., a TSX-V listed public company exploring in Canada’s North for diamonds. Shear owns a 58% interest and is operator in the Churchill Diamond Project (Nunavut Territory, Canada) (Shear’s flagship project) where more than 75 kimberlites, some very high diamond grades, have been discovered in the past 7 years. Pamela has taken this from a pure exploration idea to an ever advancing diamond project in Canada’s North.
Pam is also a Director of the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines, and a Director of Firestone Ventures Ltd. (FV:TSXV), Grizzly Diamonds Ltd. (GZD:TSVX) and Takara Resources Inc, (TKK:TSXV). Her involvement also includes various advisory roles with several private and public companies. Pam volunteers for the Student Outreach Program at APEGGA and is the past president of the Edmonton Geological Society and a Director of the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines. Pamela was the recipient of the Edmonton Global Woman of Vision Award in March of 2003 as well as the recipient of the Edmonton Consumers Choice Business Woman of the Year Award in 2005.
