BMO Asset Management (BMO AM)
BMO AM is a newly created entity within BMO Financial Group (BMO), under which the bank’s institutional investment management businesses are organized to deliver global investment products, services and solutions to clients across North America, Europe and the Middle East. BMO AM has more than $50bn in assets under management and comprises Jones Heward Investment Counsel in Canada, Harris Investment Management and HIM Monegy in the U.S. and Pyrford International in the UK. Gavin’s role is to supervise external investment manager relationships and to ensure delivery of best in class investment performance from both internal and external portfolio management resources.
Gavin joined Guardian Group of Funds (GGOF) as Chief Investment Officer in 1999 and the company became a subsidiary of BMO in 2001. Prior to joining GGOF, Gavin managed investments in San Francisco and Hong Kong, and served as Chief Investment Officer for Citibank Global Asset Management (Asia). He began his career in the UK in 1979 with Baring Brothers Ltd.
Gavin’s qualifications include an MA in Modern History and membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Investment Analysts. He is frequently quoted in the Globe and Mail and National Post, and appears regularly on BNN’s "Marketcall" and Bloomberg TV.
